Shark Tank
BACK AT USC
When our angel of a friend, Fiona Neville told us about the Medici effect, it struck a cord. In 17th century florence, the Medici family invested in artists and then surrounded them with all sorts of academics - astronomers, physicists, mathematicians, etc. The shared thought circles and exposure to new disciplines is credited as the origins of the renaissance. It was only right that our next dinner was hosted in her front yard.
A beautiful moonlit space gated by tall bushes and trees, lying atop a bed of soft pebbles created a perfect moment for a 7 course string lit dinner for 24 guests. We hosted alongside Kaylin Hiatt, who’s been our deepest source of love and support from the moment we started.
Following dinner, we invited 70 more creatives to come and enjoy and explore our art exhibition. We showcased a designer, a video director, 3 musicians, and an artist. It was here, our first guests (literally) fell in love. We found that a dinner table is a vehicle to deliver magical moments and bring people together right as the universe is ready for them.
For dinner, we introduced Max Afrashami and his new culinary studio, 1380 bread. All bread made from scratch, along with 7 courses, it was absolutely unreal.
